SPORT, ARTS AND MORE

Reddford House The Hills encourages all students to actively participate in school sporting and cultural activities of their choice on both competitive and non-competitive levels. We believe sport plays a major role in the personal and social values that students need to achieve success. Our dedicated coaches aim to inspire the highest standard in sportsmanship and discipline.

Students can participate in co-curricular classes in addition to the music and dance programme that already forms part of the curriculum. Students interested in additional instrumental music lessons or afternoon dance classes are requested to contact the school directly for further details.

Traditional school activities are included in the tuition fee. Other specialised activities are offered at an additional cost. Students are transported where possible by bus, under supervision, to and from sporting facilities.

All extra-curricular timetables are loaded onto the Reddford House App. each term and emailed to the parents with the first newsletter of each term.

Founded by the Inspired team in 2015, the Reddford House schools have been an immediate success in South Africa, with the two first schools opening with over 600 students and the third Reddford School having enjoyed a successful opening in January 2016.


The Reddford model extends beyond the confines of traditional academia to tuition in life and communication skills, equipping children to meet life’s challenges in a globally competitive world.

Conventional teaching methods are not commonly found at a Reddford House school. Our educational approach extends beyond the confines of traditional academia to tuition in life and communication skills, study methods and time management. Reddford House is committed to inspiring education in an exciting and creative manner. It is vital that our students are adequately equipped to meet life’s challenges in a globally competitive world.

Providing a holistic education to students from one year-old to Grade 12, Reddford House offers subjects in all the eight learning areas of the National Curriculum, with a wide variety of subjects available in Grades 10 to 12.

Reddford House is affiliated to the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) with Grade 12s writing the IEB National Senior Certificate examinations

Fully committed to academic excellence, Reddford House students are motivated, stimulated and extended to meet the highest academic expectations. Teachers are readily available to offer individual tutorial support.

Complementing the excellent academic education provided, Reddford House students have the ideal opportunity to become an influential part of the enriching world of the Arts. A vibrant Music, Dance and Drama programme is on offer. The curriculum from Stage 5 to Grade 9, includes Arts and Culture which features creative movement, art, drama and music.


Drama

Drama enhances our students’ self-confidence, self-esteem, self-assurance, communication skills and creativity, empowering each student with the ability to express him or herself fully, to communicate freely and interact with confidence.


Music

Specialist music teachers provide instrumental tuition in a variety of musical instruments, including string instruments, brass, piano and percussion.


Dance

Students are encouraged to embrace dance as a way of expressing their creativity.


Visual Arts and Design

Students are exposed to different aspects of the visual arts. Options include design, drawing, painting and sculpting. Film, electronic and digital media, as possible clubs and societies may be on offer.
